- Each German Intermediate Course will be held in 1.5 hour lessons one night a week.
- The course will be completed in either 10 lessons (5 or 6 students), 9 lessons (4 students) or 8 lessons (3 students).
- The minimum number of students is 3, the maximum number is 6.
- The course location is Brunswick, close to the Melbourne CBD, easy accessible via tram, train, car and bicycle.
What to expect in your German course
In our German Intermediate Course 2A, you will learn everything about parties and public holidays, how to describe them and how to say. You will talk about what you like and dislike, how to tell people why you don’t eat meat, vegetables or tofu and why you love to go to a specific café.
The grammar you will be learning
This course will be all about an important grammar topic which is dative verbs and everything that comes with it: nouns and personal pronouns in the dative case, sentence structure with dative and accusative objects and when using their pronouns as well as subordinate clauses with weil and wenn and their word order.

What to expect in your German course
In our German Intermediate Course 2B, you will learn how to describe certain procedures, especially at work and in every day situations, say what you need certain things for.
You will learn how to tell the plumber what needs to be fixed around the house, organise to move house, tell people how good you are at renovating and fixing things yourself. You will learn to describe problems with your current apartment and understand the local gumtree to find furniture.
The grammar you will be learning
Our German Intermediate Course 2B will be about practising German spelling, about the passive in the present tense, the infinitives with zu, sentences with um… zu and damit, subordinate clauses with dass, regular and irregular comparatives, the pronunciation of short and long vowels and how to compare things (so hoch wie, höher als).

German Intermediate Course 2B
What to expect in your German course
After our German Intermediate Course 2C you will be able to easily describe the colours and other properties of things. You will be able to talk about your own taste in terms of clothes and in general and describe things in detail. You will learn how to apologise in an appropriate way and how to talk about houses and paintings.
The grammar you will be learning
This course will be all about adjectives, the declension of adjectives in the nominative, accusative and dative case as well as question words like welcher/was für ein, prepositional adverbs (damit, womit, etc.) and reflexive verbs using the accusative (sich setzen, etc.).

German Intermediate Course 2C
What to expect in your German course
In our German Intermediate Course 2D you will learn to invite others in an appropriate manner as well as cancel invitations, discuss different career paths for men and for women (any different?), talk about your old and new work place, tell people what you wish would happen and speak about different ways of life.
You will also be able to write a cover letter for your new job that you want to apply for. We will talk about vocabulary for reading newspaper articles. We will talk about fortune and misfortune and how to understand the news on the radio.
The grammar you will be learning
In this course, we will talk about nouns in the genetive case, declension of adjectives using the genetive, pronominal adverbs as objects, reflexive pronouns in accusative and dative (Ich verstehe dich, ich suche mir, etc.), pronunciation practice of endings -ng and nk, the past tense/simple past of weak and strong verbs (Er ging, sie fuhr, etc.) and the use of perfect and simple past.

German Intermediate Course 2D
What to expect in your German course
Our German Intermediate Course 2E will enable you to understand news on the radio, to even write some news yourself, to tell the story line of a movie you are totally into and to finish a short novel as well as to write a newspaper article yourself, based on a headline.
You will be chatting along about your last travel and where you geographically seen have been to, how you got ready for your travel, what you find the most interesting about it, where you want to go next, to give others tips for their next trip, how to talk on the phone about all that and squeeze it on a postcard. Tell others what your dream holiday is like. We will also be talking about the weather and how to understand the weather forecast.
The grammar you will be learning
In our Intermediate German Course 2D we will learn about mixed verb in the past/simple past, about genetive prepositions, focus on German spelling again, learn how to use relative clauses in the nominative, accusative, dative and genetive (der Mann, der…; die Frau, dessen…; etc.) and pronominal adverbials in general.
